Over 15 Years Experience Growing Winter Flowers

Hi! We’re Emily of von Trapp Flowers in Waitsfield, Vermont and Linda of Little Farmhouse Flowers in Jay, New York. We’ve been practicing and teaching the art and science of bulb forcing for years and are proud to count hundreds of fellow flower growers as students of the earliest iterations of our courses. We’ve been asked by many farmers and gardeners for a filmed version of this courses, but we knew we couldn’t provide that content without giving a really clear picture of how everything works. So, to meet interest in our material and the convenience of in-home learning, we hired a professional production company to join us on each of our farms at integral points of the year so that you can see both of our farms and how our very different growing set ups produce beautiful flowers for harvest year round. Join us and learn more about the art of bulb forcing for beautiful, reliable focal flowers year round.

Praise for The Tulip Workshop

“I’m so grateful for your mentorship - such a wealth of experience and information!”

— Cassie, Jig Bee Flower Farm, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

“I love a good challenge and tulip forcing brings it on. The challenge isn’t to be able to grow in the winter but to be able to produce blooms in the coldest time of year. Winter can be spent on thumbing through catalogs but I’d rather be forcing tulips and expanding my business.”

— Tania, Skyfall Flowers, Grayslake, Illinois.

“I have always loved tulips, and am so excited to bring fresh flowers to my community in the dead of winter (and beyond). There are only a few small commercial flower growers in our region and the potential is huge. I increase what I grow every year, and almost every stem sells.”

— Brenda, Flowers of the Field Ontario, Augusta Township, Ontario, Canada

See you in class!

Whether you decide to join us online or at one of our on-farm classes, we’re excited to share everything we’ve learned and how we’ve grown our businesses and brought valuable income to our farms when fresh local flowers are scarce and our customers are hungry for the color and beauty of our blooms.
